Rules & Regulations
NEW RULES OR
AMENDMENTS:
Important
Notice to All exhibitors!!!
As of May
24, 2008 NAKC will no
longer accept checks for day of show entries. Unfortunately with the down
turn in the economy many have started to have issues with NSF checks. We have
actually had more NSF checks so far this year than the last two years combined.
If you have one dog to show and come out without pre-entry then make sure you
bring sufficient funds. We will still allow checks for pictures should they be
required, as the turn around date allows for the checks to clear. Sorry for any
issues this may cause, but with the costs of the shows it is not possible to
have our time taken chasing people for money. Thank you.
IMPORTANT
NOTICE: HOTELS ARE AN EXTENSION OF THE SHOW SITE AND ALL NAKC
RULES ARE ENFORCED AT BOTH LOCATIONS.
DOGS MAY NOT BE BATHED, LEFT LOOSE OR UNATTENDED IN HOTEL
ROOMS. Exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage to
their hotel rooms. NAKC does not have to accept entries from irresponsible
owners or handlers.
PLEASE exercise dogs at the motels and the show sites in
designated areas only, and you must pick up after your dogs.
New
for 2010:
As of the start of
the 2008 show season NAKC will offer a Junior Championship to be earned
by dogs/bitches between 6 to 12 months of age, 10 points with 1 major of 3 points. Points will be retained towards the adult championship,
an additional 3 point major must be earned to finish out the 15 points for the
adult championships. Junior Champions may not move up to Champion Class for
Best of Breed.
New Policy Effective
Immediately:
The club will now
be called the North American Kennel Club, NAKC, which was formerly know as
Rarities Inc. All Championships & points will be recognized under the NAKC.
New Policy Effective
Immediately:
- Carry In &
Carry Out Your Own Garbage
- No One To Complain To Park Staff As It Has Cost Us The
Loss Of One Show Location
Top Dog Points: For 2008 you will only score Group 1 points, if dogs are defeated
Effective for 2008: Starting at the Year End Show in
Woodstown, NJ which is the first point show of 2008 we will have the Group 2
winner from the Group that takes Best In Show come in to compete for Reserve
Best In Show. If the Group 2 winner is not available Reserve Best In Show will
be chosen from remaining Group 1 winners.
Gold
Membership: $100.00
- Unlimited discount on number of dogs/bitches if ALL shows are Pre-Entered for entire
weekend.
-
Free Kennel ad (expires Dec 31 of calendar year) on our site which has over
3000 hits a month.
-
Does not include co-owned dogs.
No personal
photos may be taken while the show photographer is taking pictures & no
outside photographers will be allowed to take photos at our shows!
Effective November 15, 2006. Anyone
that is seen doing this can have their points removed on all dogs that they
have shown with us. NAKC rents the grounds, hires & pays for judges fee,
judges travel fees, hotels & meals for judges, flights for judges, ribbons,
trophies, jackets & other prizes and all other expenses add up to a great
amount. We do not expect to have people take photos behind our backs and not
support us by purchasing the show win photos. After 15 years in the photography
field I think I have plenty of experience and several publications & books
with our photos in them. If you take show win photos they must be paid for or
points & showing privilege will be suspended until all debt is cleared.
Top Junior Handler: Divided into 3 different age groups: 5-8 years, 9-12
years & 13-16 years of age. Entry fee will be $10.00 and you must specify
which age group. The Junior Handler will start to be counted starting as of the
Year End Show in Woodstown, NJ. We look forward to awarding our upcoming
handlers and hope that all will remember to use a dog that they can easily
handle. The Show Chairman reserves the right to refuse a child to continue if
they can not maintain control of the dog that they are handling in the ring, no
monies will be refunded for this.
Pre-Entry closes TWO
(2) weeks before show date: Effective
August 26, 2006, the Pre-Entry closing date will be TWO (2) weeks before the
date of the show.
Pre-Entry closes on the Sunday at 9:00 pm with no exceptions. If you
Pre-Enter and are unable to attend for any reason we are not required or
obligated to refund your pre-entry monies or to allow you to use those
pre-entries at a later show date. That is the inherent risk of pre-entering,
the only time you will be allowed any allowances is if your dog that has been
entered has been injured or sick and can be verified by a letter & copy of
receipt from your veterinarian. Then we will try to accommodate you in some way
by possibly letting you use part of your pre-entry fees to a future show. We
regret having to enforce this issue but too many people are abusing it and now
demanding to use their pre-entry for another show date. As spelled out in the
Agreement on the Entry Forms we are not obligated in any way to letting you use
the pre-entry fee for another show date so we are finding now that we are
having to enforce this ruling.
*Minimum Pre-Entry
closes THREE (3) weeks before show date: Due to poor attendance for some shows it is necessary
to have pre-entry of 3 weeks. If we do not have minimum of 25 Pre-Entries for
these shows, the shows will be rescheduled.
Rarities Inc. & North American Kennel
Club (NAKC):
As of February
1, 2006 Rarities Inc. has joined with the North American Kennel Club NAKC to
form one large organization. We view this as a great opportunity to expand and
grow as a club. Our members and exhibitors are what makes this club so great
and we hope to hear from you on advancements that you feel our new club should
make.
NAKC accepts all recognized
AKC breeds:
Due to overwhelming requests NAKC has
decided to move forward in a new and exciting direction as of March 1, 2005 we
will accept all recognized AKC breeds. They will show under their FCI groups
and can earn Championships as described below.
With the vast majority of rare breeds seeking AKC recognition and many current
AKC exhibitors owning both AKC recognized and rare breeds, 2005 we will feature
the ability of All Breeds to compete together.
What does this mean to "Rare Breed" exhibitors? You will be able to
show your breed on a level playing field, competing against already recognized
AKC breeds. You will have the ability to score championship points by defeating
these breeds. You will be able to evaluate your breeds ability to compete with
AKC recognized breeds and to compete with them for Best In Show & Reserve
Best In Show.
How will this effect AKC breeds? With this move we will now be able to offer
championship points for your breeds as well. Your breeds will be put into their
FCI groups, and allowed to exhibit under all judges including FCI judges. You
will compete in the FCI Group
along with the rare
breeds.
How does this effect AKC breeds? With this move we will now be able
to offer championship points for your breeds as well. Your breeds will be put
into their FCI groups, and allowed to exhibit under all judges including FCI
judges. You will compete in the FCI Group
along with the rare breeds but
will go on to your own separate Best In
Show.
New
Requirements for Memberships:
